    Email

In 2006, Leigh Anne Izaguirre proudly joined Salem’s ministry team. Through the years, she has served in many different capacities though currently serves as the Director of Admissions and Community Outreach. Mrs. “Izzy” received her Bachelor’s in Business Management in 2001 and later received her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 reads, “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”  It’s my belief that one who deliberately seeks out our daily blessings, lives a life that exudes gratitude and free of bitterness. As Ann Voscamp beautifully said, “and on the night Jesus was betrayed, He broke bread and lifted it up and gave “Thanks.” If Jesus can give thanks in that, I can give thanks in everything.”

Mrs. “Izzy” has a sincere passion for Jesus Christ. She has been blessed with the spiritual gift of encouragement and genuinely enjoys bringing families together as a community of believers.  While away from Salem, Mrs. “Izzy” loves spending time with her husband, two children and extended family. Outside of adoring her family and friends, she enjoys crafting, gardening and creating home décor crosses alongside her hubby.

Fun Fact: Mrs. “Izzy” is honored to share that she was the first eighth grade graduating class here at Salem Lutheran School and was humbled to have received the “Salem Faculty Award.”

One of her favorite verses can be found in Psalm 104:33, “I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.” Did you know that singing is mentioned in the Bible 121 times? It is the most recorded of the commandments, to sing to the Lord. Isn’t it amazing to know that the Lord desires us to sing to Him daily?

Mrs. Busch has been singing since the age of 2. Not a day goes by when music doesn’t make an impact on her life. She enjoys working with students to develop musical knowledge and using songs to praise our Lord, all while teaching that music can impact us daily.

One of Mrs. Dahlia’s favorite Scripture verses can be found in 2 Corinthians 4:7 – 12 “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.  We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.  We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.  For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body.  So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.”

  • Margie Holani

    Art Teacher

    EmailArt Blog

Margie Holani joined Salem in 2007 as our school’s Art Teacher. Mrs. Holani’s young artists, in grades K-8, experience art techniques and conceptual learning through a variety of mediums.

Mrs. Holani received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California Irvine in Art Studio with Magna Cum Laude Honors in 1994.

Shortly after receiving her degree, Mrs.Holani traveled the United States. She lived in different parts of the country with her husband, while he served in the Air Force. Her experience in the military brought a deep sense of pride in country, love and support for family, and knowing that no matter what the situation - God is always in control!

Her favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 55:8-9 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” Many will question if they are living their lives as wisely as God wants them to. Knowing that God knows the end from the beginning brings comfort.

Mrs. Holani finds inspiration for her art projects through experimentation with techniques and mediums, and encourages her students to think outside the box. Through the art process students learn they can tell a story through visual language, express the spiritual in tangible form, record history, and better yet - their dreams!

When not in the Art Room, Mrs. Holani enjoys long walks with friends, relaxing at the beach with her family, and creating with her favorite medium, clay.

When Mrs.Holani was in grade school at Trinity Lutheran in Santa Ana, there was not a designated classroom for art. Each teacher planned art into their day. What a blessing it was for Mrs. Holani to have had such wonderful teachers then, who opened the doors of creativity for her. I’m blessed now to opens those doors at Salem.
